Welcome to Pink Dolphins and Blue Monkeys

We just have too much fun around here to let it slip by. I like to document the things my kids love most. Well, like pink dolphins and blue monkeys and painting, days at the park, fun foods, even tea parties. My hope is that you find some joy and inspiration.

Easy for Mom

There are times in the day when you want to have fun with your kids, but would really like to avoid a big mess.  For example, I love to cook with the kids but inevitably we end up with egg dripping off the counter or a big pile of dishes.  Or this afternoon they were totally content for about 40 minutes cutting pictures from magazines and gluing them onto paper.  But we still have scraps under the table and most of the markers have lost their caps.  But this is an easy one- Scratch Paper.  This pack is from my old days teaching art but I know you can get them at your local craft store or maybe even Wal-Mart.  It comes with all the supplies and there is virtually no mess.  The kids can scratch off the black covering to reveal colors underneath.  It may not be as interesting to them for as long as something messy- but you do have a fun finished product.  It's a nice way to practice letters too or turn into a little card for someone special!

Having fun with the meaning of Easter

One of my favorite Easter traditions for our little ones is to make Resurrection Rolls.  Directions are all over the internet... but the idea being that the kids take a marshmallow- pure and white like Jesus, dip it into butter (cleansing oils), then sugar and cinnamon (spices) and place it into a biscuit (tomb).  Then, when they bake the tomb is empty because the marshmallow has melted away.  What a fun  and tasty way to learn about what happened to Jesus.  Just a note though- don't let your two year old eat sugar and cinnamon out of the bowl- it must end up like sand in their mouths.  It took several cups off milk to make that feel better!!

Easter Fun

We really had a great Easter!  Our egg hunt with the Collins family was terrific and church on Sunday was very fun.  The weather was amazing and it was so fun to watch Corinne and Caleb enjoy each other and learn all about what Jesus has done for us.
